Wednesday 25: Vesela Koleda

Koleda is the ancient Slavic winter festival when animals were butchered for the winter and great feasts were held. The Christians may have erased much of the ancient Bulgarian religion the word Koleda holds fast. Bulgarians still to this day say "Vesela Koleda"—literally Happy Feasting/Butchering Time— as their Christmas greetings.

Thursday 26: Koledari

Koledari venture into the cold night after Christmas during the Dirty Days. They are only safe to be outside because their magic carols drive away the goblins, vampires and spirits. They bless each home with their song and are repaid in kind with coins, food, and drinks. Take these small blessings and go safely into the new year.

Friday 27: The Dirty Days

The Dirty Days are the 12 days between Christmas and Epiphany. During this dark liminal time vampires, goblins, werewolves and vengeful sprits roam the land. There must be no weddings or memorials, no doing the laundry and no going out after sunset least bad fortunes befall the house. Garlic is worn on your clothing for protection. These are the days when wielders of evil magic are at their most powerful.

Saturday 28: Kutsulan

In Bulgarian folklore, Kutsulan (or Lame Foot), is the name for the most dangerous and bloodthirsty of the wolves. God granted Kutsulan the right to eat man, and he has terrorized people during the Wolf Holidays ever since. During this time, no garments must be made particularly of sheep's wool, scissors must be tied shut to tie shut the jaws of the wolf, and needles packed away as they are like wolves' teeth. Anyone foolish enough to ignore these prohibitions is bound to be devoured.

All horses will be White Spotted Silver Grullo Rabicano with KIT M and Tiger Eye.

Wednesday 1: Kukeri

Kukeri are a beloved Bulgarian tradition dating back hundreds or possibly thousands of years. Practitioners dress in elaborate costumes as stylized spirits, animals, dragons, priests, brides, bears and other caricatures. The most iconic costumes are made of long haired goat hides, and are adored in cowbells. The sounds of hundreds of cowbells ringing together, pounding drums, and the fearsome masks help drive away bad spirits and ensure fertility and health for the year to come.

Right now, you can use them to purchase the specific herd helper you are looking for and to change your account name.

There are lots of other features planned for these like increasing the size of your barns, removing exceptional status from herd helper creates, collecting straws from your deceased stallions etc. I have no eta on any of these features but I wanted to give you an idea of what golden tokens will be used for. As I find appropriate places and times I will work to slip lots of little purchase options with GTs in.

October 21st update:

You now have the ability to clone your former horses that have passed on. If you were the breeder of a horse, and the last owner you can now use golden tokens to clone them. You will still need to pay the normal IV fee. On top of that, you pay a minimum one golden token. The longer ago your horse was created the more it costs to clone them. Anything created in the past 3 real-life years is only one token.

All the same typical cloning rules apply.

October 22nd Update

You can now use golden tokens to obtain straws/eggs from archived horses. Just like cloning the price varies by how long ago the horse was created but anything recent will be just 1 gt. There are no additional fees for synthesized gametes. You must be the most recent owner to use this feature.

Along with yesterday's updates to how boosting is paid for you can now also find "Unexceptional" as one of your boosting options on foundations. This will turn ANY unbred foundation into a perfect foundation of the current era. Want to start making your shiny foundations for the December new era now? Creating Embryos

There are three ways to create an embryo now:

Straw with a mare you own:
1) Navigate to the page of a stallion you want to make a straw from. If you own this stallion and don't have a straw yet you can collect one now. If you already own the straw you are ready for step 2.
---You must go to the stallion/gelding's page. You do not need to own the horse and it does not need to be living.
2) Select the "Create an Embryo" button.
3) Pick the mare you want to use from the drop-down.
4) Select which of the straws from this stallion you want to use and hit "Create This Embryo"
5) Your embryo will appear automatically in the "Embryos" bin at the bottom of the page.

A mare you own with a straw
1) Go to the page of the mare you wish to collect an embryo from.
2) Go to the Breeding tab.
3) Select the "Create an Embryo" button.
4) Pick the straw you want to use from the drop-down and hit "Create This Embryo"
5) Your embryo will appear automatically in the "Embryos" bin at the bottom of the page.

Bulk Combing Straws and Eggs Together
1) Navigate to the horse page of either the straw or egg.
---You must go to the horse page of either parent. You do not need to own the horses and they do not need to be living.
2) In the "Gametes" bin select "Embryos from Gametes"
3)At the top of the page you will see first every straw/egg you own from the horse page you are on. Check how many you want to create embryos from.
4)Below you will see a list of straw/eggs you can combine with the above gametes. Check all the ones you want to create embryos from.
5) Click "Create Embryos"
---Note you do not need to select the same number of straws and eggs. The game will automatically figure out how many pairs it can make and only create that many.
6) Your embryos will appear automatically in the "Embryos" bin at the bottom of the page.

Implanting Embryos

From the Surrogate Page
Note this is not a new method. I just think most people have never used it so did not know it was always an option.
1) Go to the page of the pair you want to carry the foal
2) Selected In-house Breeding from the breeding tab.
---Or "Breed to this Horse" if you want to use a mare up for public breeding for some reason.
3) Go to the "Horse Breeding: Embryos" bin and select the embryo you wish to use and the foal name.
4) Click "Create Foal"

From the Embryo parent page.
1) Go to the sire or dam of any embryo you own.
---See the instructions at the top of the post if you don't know how to view your embryos.
2) Navigate to Breeding tab and scroll down to the "Embryos" bin.
3) Click the Implant button of the embryo you wish to implant.
4) At the top of the page is listed every embryo you own, with the one you just selected listed first. Followed by related embryos then every other embryo you have.
5) Select a surrogate mare to carry the embryo. You can use mares with pasture bonus to get better foals, or university surrogates if you have no mares.
6) Name the foal and hit "Create You Foal"
...
7) You will be immediately presented with the choice to select another embryo to implant. Related embryos to your prior one are listed next followed by all your other embryos. There is no need to swap pages once you have started the implantation process.

Please note that bulk implantation is not currently in the cards due to technical limitations.

Known Issues

1) Please be aware that If you are doing several steps in a row with no page loads you might have old messages like egg collection fees that stick around at the top of the page. Just letting you know I am aware of the issue, it does no harm and is not charging you (it is just the original message does not delete).
2) Right now toggling the straws/egg in the bulk embryo collection also toggles the gamete bin lower down. Similarly, this does no harm and is just a visual error.

I will work on getting both of these addressed as soon as I am able. Two-fold issue, he is currently in the US, unaware there is an issue, so we have a good 6+ hour wait until he is available to address it. The second issue is that today he has an 8-hour drive and a 2-hour consulate appointment he has to take care of. There is no moving this. It took weeks to get this appointment and they are trapped in the US waiting on the results of this appointment. They can not come home without this appointment.

I know it might be frustrating to be sans image generation but I hope you understand that getting my child home to me is more important than some fake horse pictures.

If Haystack can do a very quick fix when he is up this morning he will, if not he will address the issue after he is back from this appointment. I am on the lookout for the best of the best of HAJ horses to use for advertising purposes.
Please post your best-looking and most genetically interesting HAJ horses below to nominate them for the program. Ambassadors help show our realistic our image system is.

If your horse is selected it will receive an asterisk in front of its name to denote its recognized status, and this horse will not be removed from the game even if archived with no descendants. It will stay around as one of the recognized "HAJ Ambassadors"

Please note these very important rules:

-Your horse MUST have a proper name. I won't select any horses with Id# names or so many "color/pedigree" code notes they make the name hard to read. They should have a proper, would be accepted by a registry, name.

-Your horse must have some kind of tack. I don't want a sea of default mane and tail horses on default backgrounds. They don't have to be fully tacked but I want to see something having been done to them. I want as wide a variety of looks as possible.

-I am generally not interested in promoting fantasy genes. I might include something neat into the HAJ Ambassadors program on rare occasions but please don't flood this post with fantasy horses. They are not ideal ambassadors for HAJ.

-I will only very rarely be selecting chimeras for the same reason as the fantasy horses.

-Same goes for fantasy tack.

-There is no time limit on this. I will be continually adding horses to the program.

-Please limit yourself to 5 horses in the thread at a time max.
