Revamping one of our long standing giveaways with double the money and some tweaks to the tips to account for new updates! Please shoot me a PM if you see anything out of date.

This next giveaway is inspired by @Herzeloyde 's giveaway on Bluegrass and after getting permission, I am super excited to implement it here! This giveaway was a huge help to starting my herd on Bluegrass and although I had to make a few tweaks to make it more feasible on this server, but I hope it is just as impactful here! This giveaway will run indefinitely for all new players.

*If you are new to this server and your daily payout is less than 10,000 hbs, put a horse up for sale for 100,000 hbs. Post the link to the horse here, and I, or another established player will buy them from you, so that you have some extra fundings to begin your HaJ addiction.
*This offer is intended for newer members. If you are a long time established player, this offer is not intended for you.
*One horse per player, and if you have multiple accounts, you can only enter this with one of them.
If anyone else buys the horse before I do - no problem! The most important is that you get some money to start your game

Below is some advice for new players also written by @herzeloyde with a few minor bonus modifications from myself

If you need to build your economy, and can still create foundations with points, here is what I would do:

1)
First, try to get hold of all the following Herd helpers you can get:
- Exceptionally Perfect
- - Exceptionally Producing (of all kinds)
- Exceptional Show Horse
- - Perfect Foundations
- Great Show Horse
- - Rank Specials

Because they will be more attractive to buyers. Then, when you have created as many as you can with these HHs every day, you can start creating from regular Herd Helpers.

2)
If you get a rare 600+pointed horse, keep them if you want, but sell everything else, unless it is a rare Herd Helper that you just can't part with.

Put the horses up for sale for 50-60% of their lifetime value, announce it on the forum, and they will sell quick. If you name them according to their HH, it is more easy for buyers to see which ones they want to buy. i.e. I would call a horse created from the Exceptionally Perfect HH something like "9890973 Ex Perfect" or "9890973 Great ShowH" if it is the "Great Show Horse" HH you used etc.

Do not make seperate posts for each sale horse. If you go an a large create spree, put all of those horses up together in one forum post.

You do NOT need to waste money on testing them, other than the free breeding test, because experienced players will already know about how good they are, if they are created from one of the above Herd Helpers.

3)
Enter any horse that did not sell after a couple of days into the auction, and use the money you earn to create new horses, and repeat step 1-3.

Keep only the few that you do not want to part with, or that will be crucial to your breeding program, and the ones with the highest points. (more than 500+ at least), because as a new member, you want to keep the horses that earn you the most per stall

Also note that accounts can only create horses with points if they have under 60,000 points held total AND have less than 100,000 points among all horses they have created. Your points per create start to decrease as you get closer to the cut off. Make sure to collect as many high pointed show horses as possible to give your barn income while you wait for your home bred show horses to earn up points.

Once you reach your limit and all the horses in your stable are horses you want to keep, it is time to use the money you have saved in your bank account and buy the biggest barn you can afford.

4)
Now it is time to buy other player's pointed foundations, and fill the new barn with pointed foundation show horses only. When you have done this, you will have a nice, steady income to support your pixel pony addiction

5)
You can also get a nice income by selling off Rank Specials, if you are lucky enough to get one, for their real market value which you can see here (https://mesa.huntandjump.com/herdhelpers.php)

The money you earn from this should be used to buy a Basic upgrade, or for saving for the special show barn.

I'm not doing much in the game and I want to give out some hbs.

I have been "competitive" in the past for "tack off battles" lol and I want to see if we can get some creativity going.

I'm running this competition to really challenge creativity because the prize pot is 2 million hbs! It could be split three ways, or it could be split 20. It's going to be up to you. Based on how creative everyone gets.

This will be open until September 30th. Getting creative in the ALPHA tack editor takes time. I'm eager to see what you come up with!

Rules:
Must enter two horses, and two horses only.

Once a horse is entered it cannot be edited/changed.

First horse entered can be basically anything. Must have a theme (not fantasy theme), a background (not the default background), and tack (three items or more).

Second horse entered must have a fantasy theme. As well as a background (not the default background), and tack (three items or more). Fantasy here can be unicorns, can be whimsical, can be imaginative, silly even.

If you don't have a ton of tack packs, please enter and use what you've got! Part of why the prize pot is high is to encourage you to enter, not discourage you.

I'm excited to see what everyone comes up with! Have fun!

I started this game on the Bluegrass server, and people loved it! So now I’m bringing this game here. How it works is someone makes a wish, then the next player creates a catch to go with that wish, and so on. Example:

Player 1: I wish I had a larger house.
Player 2: Wish granted, but it’s infested with insects. I wish to have a dog.
Person 3: Wish granted, but it won’t stop slobbering all over you. I wish to have a winning lottery ticket.
Person 4: Wish granted, but it’s only for $1... And so on. Now, get ready to play.

Notice: Please keep all catches appropriate. Also, you are allowed to post more than once, but let at least 3-4 people go in between your turns.

Let’s play a game, where everyone gets a gift! It may be big, it may be small, who knows?

The first person to reply to this thread willl get a gift from the person who replies after them. This is a continuous cycle. (Person 1 gets gift from person 2, person 2 gets gift from person 3 . etc)

Gifts can be anything, straws, hbs, embryos, horses etc, be sure to check what account type your giftee has. If extra sorting out is needed for the gifter to give their giftee a gift, please do this through messages as to not clog the post.

This game will not end. It can be reawaken any time.

Please reply with player ID number.

To send a gift use the players ID number. You'll send straws/eggs/embryos through the lab. You'll send hbs via pay another member, under account management. You'll gift a horse via a chatroom (list horse for sale *in chatroom* for 1hb).

Please comment that your gift has been sent, or link the chatroom. That way the player who is receiving will know to get their gift.

Feel free to play more than once, however please be mindful of all players. I ask that if you play often, try not to more than three times a week. This isn't about getting free stuff!

You don’t need to be an experienced player to participate, cause any gift big or small is great, its the thought that counts!

Would You Like A Horse GMT'd? Again!

I ran this 6 months ago and it was very popular, so I thought I'd do it again but with some restrictions. Here is my original post which tells you how to partake.

'I don't use GMTs much on this server and have to keep turning my hbs into IVs so I thought I would offer to use them on other people's horses. With the Gift Exchange coming up it seems the perfect opportunity.

Here's how it works. Post a horse on here and tell me which genes you want altered. Don't forget, you can also change gender, height and bone density. Please be specific about the changes. I will then add you to my buddy chat. Post the horse in there for sale at 1hb. I'll buy the horse, make the necessary changes, and then put them back up in my buddy chat for you to buy at 1hb.'

Just to say, this is not just for the Gift Exchange, if you want to alter a horse for yourself, that's fine.

Last time I offered alterations with no limit on the GMTs spent. This time I'm putting a cap of 20 GMTs per stable in place. That could be 20 on one horse, or the total spread over several horses. If you want a lined horse altered, make sure that the parents have the required genes for me to change them on your horse. If you want to use this for Gift Exchange and don't want to post openly, just send me a message with the information.

All backdrop images must be 500x500 pixels and saved in .png format.
Images must be create by you, using your drawing aid or medium of choice. This includes AI, but excludes Stock Images.
Images need to fit the feel of the game, and should not resemble a photo.
Horses need space to stand. Use the Rule of Thirds to help understand image composition. There needs to be a minimum of 100 pixels of clear ground for the horse to stand on.
Images need to be high resolution and should not be grainy.
Ammit has the final say in what is added to the game.

I'm sponsoring a Tack Pack of 10 Backgrounds, or more depending on participation (up to $100). A Tack Pack is currently $50 for 10 items, and $25 for every 10 after that.

I will probably do a Pre-Vote selection to pick the best representations of that Category. Players will then have multiple ways of voting on images. Ammit will have the final say in what images will be uploaded.

You can vote by interacting with the forum post and "Thanking" the artist.
At the time of Voting I will upload a Google Forum so you can cast your vote.
I will be uploading images to the H&J Facebook, and you can vote for your favorite image by reacting to it.
Every interaction counts towards selecting the fan favorite for that category.

It's The Futurity Swap Game!

@LadyHawkeStables, made a fabulous suggestion for a little game to encourage and facilitate futurity swaps and participation in the futurity. Welcome to the Futurity Swap Game!

How It Works:
Step 1) I will post a stallion that is available for public breeding via live cover or straws.
Step 2) The next person will need to breed, and lock 5 (or more) futurity eligible foals from that stallion.
Step 3) That person will post a link to their locked foals, and then choose a new stallion for the next round. You can choose a stallion that you own, or the stallion of another player. Just make sure that the stallion is available for either live cover breeding or has straws publicly available for sale. You can choose a stallion from ANY Era.
Step 4) Steps 2 and 3 will be repeated as many times as folks would like to keep the game going.

If two players respond to the same stallion posting by accident the next person can pick one of the two newly posted stallions to carry forward.

Note: Posting stallions with lots of licensed gene restrictions is discouraged to allow maximum participation from other players.

End of the Month Raffle Prize!:
Each time you participate in a "round" you will get an entry into the raffle.
Players who breed to or post an Era 1 or Era 2 stallion will receive two entries in the raffle per "round."
Raffle winners will be drawn on May 28th.

After about 55 million years and then another following 5,000+ years, horses had evolved tremendously, revolutionizing war, hunting, transportation, agriculture, trade, commerce, and even recreation. As horses became a crucial role in providing that extra support to armies in the field, to pulling wheeled vehicles, they had left a major impact on the history we know.

So now, lets get to what you came here for.

Welcome to Fame from History!

For the next week we will be playing a game of history. A game to celebrate and recognize all the horses that have put our world into a new age.

As this gift, to myself, for my birthday I would love for everyone to give a round of applause before we actually start. This took me forever to plan and work out, the hard long hours of trying to make this flow and sound good. But it was super fun and hope it is to you! I have been on a Super time crunch and finally got it done! So, Let’s play!

The Rules For the Game
Daily, I will post a paragraph in which I mention a breed, the accomplishments, or I will highlight an event from history that included horses, and will hide some key words. These “key word (s)”, (that you will determine), will lead you to one of my horses. These words may be the horses name, the tack features on the horse, or even the barn it’s in. I’ll make sure which horse is super obvious if you do a barn search, and that you may not be between two horses. But be warned, these will get harder every day!
-And I may post additional bonus paragraphs so keep an eye out! These bonuses will always be a story-time worth 1 point unless its a Super Bonus which are worth 5 points, but these are going to be harder than the actual level-

When searching horses, my barn ID #15090

1. Players have unlimited guesses, but once you guess you must wait for another player to post before sending another.

2. In your guesses, include the link to the horse, and your ID number. Your ID will be entered into a random raffle to get a chance to win the grand fortune.

Edit: -When submitting your guess, and its past Level 3, include your key words!-

So what is the fortune?

The Fortune is a cash prize worth over 300k HBs, a random 13+ PT horse of mine, and another random item of my choosing.

Every time you correctly guess the horse, you get another point to your barn.
The more entries you get the better chance you will get in the raffle.

Another special fortune will go out to the person with the most correct guesses.

So I believe that is all for now! So no peeking!

Era 3 needs a little help getting the futurity board filled this year. I'd like to sponsor a little incentive and raffle to encourage folks to get an Era 3 futurity stud qualified that is not on the board.

I don't use GMTs much on this server and have to keep turning my hbs into IVs so I thought I would offer to use them on other people's horses. With the Gift Exchange coming up it seems the perfect opportunity.

Here's how it works. Post a horse on here and tell me which genes you want altered. Don't forget, you can also change gender, height and bone density. Please be specific about the changes. I will then add you to my buddy chat. Post the horse in there for sale at 1hb. I'll buy the horse, make the necessary changes, and then put them back up in my buddy chat for you to buy at 1hb.

Last gift exchange I had several people approach me asking about selling stock but I really was not set up for it and did not have the horses to spare people were asking about. Here is a list of what I am willing to offer for the exchange this December.

1) Straws from any of my stallions. I can do a 4-year expiration for gift exchange straws.
Studs I will have on hand next year

2) I can do eggs or embryos from any of my mares if you arrange to buy them immediately at the start of the season. I will give my breeding a bit more time than normal next month for people to make requests but there will only be a few days to request eggs. I tend to breed my herd as early in the season as possible.

3) I am willing to sell some custom-order foals. If you give me a list of what you are looking for I can keep an eye out for a foal like that, and might adjust some crosses to get something that fits but you need to contact me at the start of breeding season so we can work together on that.

What I won't be selling is my *** gold mares or my best-of-the-generation mares. I had a few requests for those last exchange and those are unreasonable asks. I am very happy to share my lines though, just let me know what you are looking for. :x
