Gulastra Plume- if anyone wants to help revive this gene!

Hi! I’m a new player. Been here for about a week. I had a beautiful lease horse as a kid that had this rare silver tail (which her owner later told me was caused from the Gulastra Plume gene). I was so pleased to see this gene included in the game!

But I am sad to see it is SUPER rare and seems to be dying out. I actually joined a different server to see if I could find it more easily. But I circled back here to see if anyone wants to help me revive it on Mesa. I have some straws from gp/gp studs. I have ONE gp/gp mare (she is yellow papered but there’s no mares left!). I am looking for eggs, embryos, stud recommendations and if anyone wants to breed their own too, let me know. I’m still learning so any ideas on how to do this well would also be appreciated!

What causes diffused patterns?

I'm trying to replicate a coat on one of my favorite horses, but all her offsprings have diffused spots. Which gene causes the diffusion?

Homozygous Frame

Hi all,
I created a HH foal and he is chimeric and secondary DNA set has O/O Frame. I thought it was supposed to be lethal and the guide also says "When homozygous it produces all or nearly all white foals who do not live more than a few days. [1]".

Does it mean my horse will die soon (does it even happen in the game in the range since birth to 18 years old?). Or is it a random low-probability bug we just discovered? Or it doesn't matter since the foal is chimeric?

How do height genetics work?

Hey all!

I'm trying to breed fancy colored riding ponies, but I've had to branch into warmbloods, riding horses, and sport ponies in order to get my desired colors. Is there a good way to decrease height and bone?

I do have a few horses with height regulator genes, however, I don't think I have enough to avoid inbreeding. Any tips?

Playing with GMT

As a new player I wasn’t sure what to do with the GMTs I have collected from the candy horse event. I changed a few horses from stallion to mare. I made a few horses consistent when they were in consistent. But I wasn’t sure I understood the genetics enough to play with color.

W15/W15 seemed to be creating the mostly white horse.

And for 1 GMT I removed one of her W15 (replaced it with -) and now she is an adorable Appy!

Is there a tab or feature somewhere that I could plug in the genotype of my horses and be able to predict the probabilities and coat colors of potential foals? I've tried using online sources from other websites but none of them fit what I'm looking for.

Does anyone know what exact combo I should be avoiding when breeding horses with KIT? I've lost 3 foals unfortunately and I'm trying to understand what exact combo causes it.

Sire has R/W1
Dames whose foals didn't survive all came from Rank 2: Heterozygous White 2 herd helper and have:
1. R/W2
2. W20/W2
3. -/W2

Did it happen because foals would have had W1/W2? Or due to some other reason?

I have a soft spot for Appaloosas as I grew up riding a few. I'd like to see if I can breed all of the various types of Appaloosa in the game with the highest stats possible.

What are Sunshine and Snowdrop?

I know they're on the Cream gene, but what are the effects of Sunshine and Snowdrop? Do they only show on certain colors? What do I need to know about them from a breeding standpoint? I tried searching on the wiki and the genetics guide but couldn't find hardly any information.

Question on changes of gene expression

I ended up scraping my breeding program and restarting with era 9, mainly because of how much the expression of certain genes changed.
I’ve looked through my old horses to show some examples of what they looked like prior to their images updating.
It is such a stark difference and I don’t really understand why. Some of my gorgeous dark, rich coated horses are now pure white.
Or the expression of snow has changed so much that instead of subtle specks of white, it now takes over everything.
I guess I am just trying to figure out what exactly changed and what genes are responsible so I can avoid this happening with my new project.

With the miniatures in the game now being useful and valuable, I have been wondering how small you can breed without the height regulator gene.
This also happens to coincide with the new era, so I am making this another era 8 project.

The rules:
Any color, any bone
Start with two ponies
Foals will be gmt'd to the smallest possible height

I gmt'd him to 13.2 hands, the smallest possible create size.

0% Inbreeding Project

So I decided I was going to challenge myself to see how many generations I could go with 0% inbreeding, for Era 5-Era 7. Most likely will do Era 8 as well as then I can control the foundation parameters better.

ERA 5currently sits at 150 unique foundations, 75 unique G2, 19 unique G3, and 1 unique G4.
Because there is limited stock, I only require 0% inbreeding and evenly bred.

ERA 6currently sits at 53 unique foundations, 17 unique G2, and 5 unique G3.

ERA 7currently sits at 39 unique foundations, 19 unique G2, and 4 unique G3.

(Due to Era 5 being the oldest and limited in genetic material, I focused this month on getting as much era 5 material as possible.)

After breeding season has closed, I will update again, possibly also adding in which foundations I have for each era so should you have one I don’t have, I would love to add!

Red Pigment Modifiers

What are some genes that boost the saturation of red pigment? I am talking about things like having e/e and dense pheomelanin so they come out super dark by maximizing the red pigments if that makes sense. Looking to see if there is anything else modifying the red without diluting it. I've started playing with agouti promoter but I am not sure what it does tbh. I want to expand upon chestnuts essentially and create more dark and bright red shades but I am not sure if I am using everything I can at this point. Thanks!

For tax this is one of my chestnuts that are so dark they look black which is very cool to me for some reason lol

Hi! I’ve been playing for around a year and have been able to breed some pretty decent horses (color and rating wise) but now that I am getting more into the game I’m wanting to focus on breeding my own line from scratch and adding some specific closed genes in. I’m wondering:

1) is it better to start from ExPerf foundations and add the genes I want in by GMTing them onto those creates or should I outsource the genes and add them in later once I’ve established horses that pass BA from a group of foundation horses?

2) should I keep my uneven bred horses (I have mostly gold/star+) and try to breed them evenly from now on with other peoples stock? (I don’t care about eras that much) or should I sell them to get the funds to start from scratch?

I know everyone plays the game differently and there isn’t a right or wrong way I’m just looking for clarity because I want to try my hand at the leaderboards and building up a line others want to use as well. Any advice is appreciated :)

Hello, I'm starting to breed silvers, and I've seen that some horses have clear spots but others don't, even with the same genotype. Is it because there are hidden genes or is it a normal variation for the phenotype?

Yes, I know that cream is heterozygous, it gives the prettiest result, and homozygous horses can breed with other horses for het foals.
All foals will have to be superior to their sire or dam, and have paper increase as appropriate with their generation to be kept as breeding stock. All others will be gelded/spayed, and/or sold.

Originally, I didn't know that I wanted this project, until AmberHaven300 posted a herd dispersal in a forum post, and I found this guy...

Hello!

I was wondering what the maximum PT is for 2nd gen horses out of non-boosted first generation lined horses? Specifically with C and Yellow papered grandsires / dams.

I know that 10.5 is the maximum for G1, but would like to know the same for G2. So I can benchmark whether my horses are producing "good enough" show horses or not, so I can thin down my herd a bit.

This is the highest PT G2 I've bred. It would be nice to know hwo far from the max she is.

Non-Inbred Lines

I’m contemplating if it would be possible to have a competitive inbred line. It seems not, especially now with the limits on maxed horses. How do the non-inbred breeders go about this? One stallion makes the colts only? How do you split the mares?

It seems like a logistical nightmare.
