What are Sunshine and Snowdrop?
-
I know they're on the Cream gene, but what are the effects of Sunshine and Snowdrop? Do they only show on certain colors? What do I need to know about them from a breeding standpoint? I tried searching on the wiki and the genetics guide but couldn't find hardly any information.
I have a gorgeous stallion (link below) with Prl/Sun and he's passed Sun on to several pasture foals this season.

I am curious as well! And about how the Halo gene works

Cancel this, I was wrong on what I thought.

Sunshine and Snowdrop are basically the same as Pearl. Phenotypically show up the same, and need to have two pairs for it to show up. (can be any mixture of Pearl, Sunshine, and Snowdrop, as long as it has two of them)
The gene description here: "The snowdrop [also sunshine] allele is a cream gene mutation functionally the same as the pearl allele. It restricts pigment body wide. It requires two copies to show or can create a pseudo-double dilute effect when paired with the cream allele. Will also create a pearl effect when combined with pearl or sunshine alleles."DarkPhoenix #15470 (she/her) ~ Premium Upgrade
