Futurity question
  • Ok so I am new to the game. It’s been about a week haha. I realize starting at the end of the month sets me up to plan for a big month starting December 1st. I have tried reading the FAQ about the futurities and my brain can’t figure it out. I have a nice stud I want to try and futurity next month. So I need 10 locked foals to do so?
Explain it to me like I’m in kindergarten :(

  • So the futurities are made to encourage sharing among players. In order for your stallion to qualify for a futurity he needs to produce at least 10 locked foals. These foals have to be bred/locked by players other than the studs owner. It’s also my understanding that These foals have to be the same era as the stud.
Futurity stallions are ranked based on the points earned I believe by only the top 10 Foals under the age of 6.

Link your stud here and I’d be happy to bred/lock a few foals for you!

  • For futurity you need other members to breed to your stud in order to qualify (the ten qualifying foals need to be bred and owned by other members). The era of the foals must be the same or higher than the stud as well. So e.g. if your stud is Era 8, you need other members to breed their Era 8 or 9 mares to your stud (Edit: I see your stud is Era 0 so any mares can count! Just fyi I think this is one of the more competitive futurity eras because there's a lot of high quality E0 studs out there!)

I'm pretty sure the foals don't actually need to be futurity locked for your stud to qualify, but futurity locking means they won't be sold back to the game before age 6 (which I think is when they age out of contributing to your stud's futurity rank). So when other members futurity lock their foals it provides you with some security, if that makes sense.

  • I went ahead and bred your boy to all the remaining unplanned open mares I had, something like 11, and have locked all those foals!
