Why are my horse's mane and tail so light?
-
He is one of my foals from last year. He is a buckskin dun with the typical black legs for buckskin/bay dun. But where do his light mane and tail come from? Is that from the combination of cream and dun or are other genes involved?

Zoran von der Blumenwiese -
He also carries a copy of the flaxen gene that lightens Mane/tail.ID# 1180
-
I thought flaxen only affected chestnuts?
-
The combination of cream, dun and appy combined can cause lightened manes and tails.Need to contact me? Read this first.
