It's left over from the gmt that was removed from them

I've never heard of it being left over, normally it gets removed, or so I thought.

it does get removed, but the horse's image doesn't refresh on its own, so if you go to the control panel and regenerate, the candy coating will be gone.

how do you get rid of the candy coat? I can't remember how to do it...

@Ryoka two options: click on the giant link on their page saying “This horse is a Candy Pony and can be turned in for a gene mod token”
or go to your home page-> account and stable management-> candy & sea pony turn in

If your candy coat doesn't wash away after turning in the GMT you need to follow the steps mentioned earlier in this thread about image regeneration.
