Phantom Gene Question

I'm looking but not finding much detail on how the phantom genes work. Do they breed true? Do the foals have a chance of having the phantom? Or is it a once-and-done thing - you add the genes, you change the horse, but the offspring are just normal?

When you purchase a gene in game they are always inheritable.
Make sure you pick a horse with pinto genes to add phantom too. Anything tobiano is a good bet.Need to contact me? Read this first.
