15pt foals feeling rather impossible… what am I missing?
-
Hey everyone!!
The last 5 seasons have brought a ton of change to my barn including completely culling and starting over with era 9 and picking up my first true higher quality horses from other members!
That said… I’ve had the goal of breeding a 15pt foal from my own horses and it’s feeling impossible.
So what is going wrong?
I own a top double boosted stallion that I know is capable of producing a 15pt (someone else bred one from him a few seasons ago)
I recently invested in 2 double boosted mares for him… they aged up yesterday and I’ve crossed both with him
I am implanting into mares with a pasture bonus.
I have maxed and made foals consistent and still can only get 14.9 pt.
I only have a handful of eggs left for the year from them so I’m just curious if I’m missing something potentially valuable?
Or if the mares are even capable like I thought…
Feeling rather defeated so would love any guidance.

15pt bred by another player from stallion https://mesa.horsegeneticsgame.com/horse.php?horseid=3975514

Edit to add that I got one from the second mare after maxing another foal…
Which definitely leaves me wondering why I didn’t achieve it when I maxed others that are full siblings?ID# 1180 -
Does making a foal consistent after maxing increase the PT further?
I am getting close to 15 PT with boosted parents but can’t seem to get there either. -
I have maxed and made foals consistent and still can only get 14.9 pt.
Can you please post a foal like this. A maxed and perfect consistent foal from two double boosted parents is always a 15. So something does not add up there. Sounds like you may have missed a step.
The first mare you posted does not have a single maxed and perfect consistency foal.
The second mare has 3 15 PT foals.Need to contact me? Read this first.

AquariusRanch - Yes consistency factors into the PT score and can increase itNeed to contact me? Read this first.

This foal is maxed, consistent and from two boosted parents. I implanted into mare with 30 day pasture bonus. What did I miss? I’m new so I’m still figuring out the nuances of breeding.

If she had two double boosted parents, was maxed and made perfectly consistent she would be a 15.
For starters she has not been made perfectly consistent. That means editing in the GMT lab, not consistent written on the PT testing. Her dam is also not a clone which means she is not double boosted and can never produce a 15 PT foal.Need to contact me? Read this first.

Ok I see. The double boosting aspect is the only way to create a 15 PT foal. What’s the max PT for two non-clone boosted parents?
-
Max from two cap quality parents is 14. Max from two single boosted over cap is 14.5 One double boosted over cap and one cap quality parent is also max of 14.5Need to contact me? Read this first.

Thanks for the reply! I definitely feel like I have the bay mare sorted out but I can’t get one from the other.
Here’s a foal from proven stallion that is maxed and consistent but only 14,6

You have not made either of those perfectly consistent. It would say in the tattoo log if that was the case.Need to contact me? Read this first.

Okay, Maybe I’m not understanding how to do that?
This one is a lot closer to 15pt- I attempted to max but already max ability.

**edit to add that I figured it out. I did not know that you could GMT a horse that already showed as consistent**ID# 1180 -
Consistent is a broad category, but a perfect 15 pt requires perfect consistency.Need to contact me? Read this first.

Now I am curious, can you have triple boosted? Does the chain keep going? A boosted clone, of a boosted clone, of a boosted horse.
-
University bred horses (clones) cannot be cloned so a double boost is the max currently.ID# 1180
-
Yes you can have triple boosted but not over cap. Exceptional producing foundations have a 5% boost attached. You can boost them again, then clone and boost to get a triple boosted horses. It's not a very good use of money though and I don't recommend it. There is a reason it has fallen out of fashion these days.Need to contact me? Read this first.

Thank you all so much for this thread, it was very helpful! I had exactly the same questions yesterday when I bred a bunch of *** horses.
I have a question about consistency though. Does it mean that no lined horse can be born perfectly consistent? All perfectly consistent horses are made either by spending GMT on making them perfectly consistent or it's a HH foundation horse from "Perfectly consistent" or "Exceptionally perfect" line? -
They can be born perfectly consistent and you can get 15 pt foals naturally with no altering of the foal.Need to contact me? Read this first.
