Comparing stallions for show breeding
-
I have several fantastic Star** stallions that were given to me or that I bought early on, but I'm not quite sure how to figure out which would be the best to use for breeding show horse stock. How would you go about doing this? I could comparison test, which could be a bit spendy, or I could breed them to the same mares and make a spreadsheet of the results (the foals I could then just use as showhorses themselves, so nothing lost!). I think the FAQ suggests both methods, too.

It is possible there is no difference between them. Post them. If they have 3 or 4 star parents they are all cap and all the same breeding ability.Need to contact me? Read this first.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

When it comes to show horses, my priority is highest PT possible, since that determines how well show horses earn points. If you’ve used the stallions for some breeding already they may have an AFPT (average foal PT) indicated when you look at their pedigree page to open their foal list. The higher the AFPT, the better! Same goes for mares as well.

Ammit, this was yours from **** parents and in 30 day surrogate, so it seems he's as good as it gets!

Aquarius, I thought a premium upgrade was needed for AFPT? I have a basic upgrade, but probably won't make the jump until I'm ready to clone eventually (and that'll be in a bit because I like buying pretty ponies too much right now LOL). -
Then he is cap quality and the best you can get with boosting. :)
You can manually calculate AFPT, but in this case it doesn't matter. You already know he is cap and that is the most important info.Need to contact me? Read this first.
