Little Daily Successes
-
I thought it might be nice to have an ongoing thread of the little daily successes we managed to have in our mundane lives. It can be rough out there, but sometimes just acknowledging that a day went well or that you achieved something, even if it's as simple as "I did a chore I'd been putting off!" or "I made a phone call I didn't want to make!" is worth cheering for.
I'll go first, with this morning's happy little discovery: the seeds I planted in my garden started sprouting! -
I have been hand watering my small pastures to get through the drought without my grass dying… we *finally* added another temporary fence this morning that will allow me to rotate pastures!
I also put the first ride on my new project horse and she was superID# 1180 -
I finally gave a plant of mine a bigger pot, and it looks to be perking up!

@Arayla - heck yeah! I have my pasture rotations set up as well now, though I need to reinforce some as the horses occasionally decide they'd like to move on to the next too soon... (Also, high five, fellow farm person!)
And it's always so nice when they behave for those first rides. That's awesome!
@RainTree Sweeeet! Hopefully it does great in its new home!Thanked by 1Arayla -
After fighting on/off lameness issues with my gelding for the past 6-8 months, we finally have a diagnosis, some medication and a treatment plan. He is finally feeling better and I should be able to start back with some light riding in June. I am soooo thrilled <3

@etaven- I am so thankful to be able to rotate! Thankfully my girls have been respectful so far but I’m sure an unplanned swap is coming…
@AquariusRanch glad to hear you guys are moving in the right direction. Lameness struggles are so frustrating.ID# 1180 -
@AquariusRanch - That's great to hear! Having a plan is a relief.
My little success of the day: Pulled down most of the poison ivy that was growing all over the lilac! (...hopefully protective clothing and a scrubbing afterwards will keep my skin from paying the price...)Thanked by 1AquariusRanch -
That’s a huge success! I’m very allergic… can’t even mow the farm without having a huge reaction.
No big success of the day for me yet today but I work in 911 so I’m sure by the end of the day we will do something!ID# 1180
