Introducing Rainbow Riot 2 Void!

Void is a new allele of the Rainbow Riot 2 gene. It turns white markings into pure black.


Not Wrong Warp!
At first glance, you might assume such an allele was just another wrong warp but there are significant functional differences between them. First, void does not cause warping. Second, void converts markings to black, while wrong warp converts white areas to black and has color tearing. They can result in strikingly different appearances.


Here is our first example horse:

Void will also show on horses that can't show wrong warp.

Void also does not tear at the edges.

Note the yellow halo on this WW horse


There is no hallo and much more dark on the void version.


You can also get lots of darkening that you would never get with wrong warp.

Will not show on non markings
It is important to note that for the purposes of void, ice, gray, chinchilla, and cream do not count as markings. While they might show wrong warp they will not show void.

Splash is voided ice is not.


Gray

This max white horse with gray on top shows the gray cutting through the voided markings.


Chinchilla white does not count as void and the markings will be picked out separately from the white areas.


With axiom genes
Void can cause axiom to invert back to light colors.
