The Ravenshore Courser is a lean, swift breed celebrated for its endurance, intelligence, and unyielding spirit. Developed along the rugged coastal regions where wind-swept cliffs met rolling moors, the Courser was bred to travel long distances at speed while carrying riders or light loads across harsh and shifting terrain.

Appearance
Height: 14.3 – 16.0 hands
Build: Streamlined and athletic, with a deep chest for lung capacity, long fine legs, and a strong yet light frame built for endurance over sheer pulling power.
Head: Narrow, finely chiseled with a straight or slightly convex profile, wide nostrils for efficient breathing, and sharp, intelligent eyes.
Coat & Coloring: Commonly found in deep, dark tones—seal brown, raven black, and rich mahogany bay. Many exhibit a subtle metallic sheen in the coat, reminiscent of sea-washed stones. Occasional roans and duns are prized for their rarity.
Mane & Tail: Silky, often carried high in motion. Traditionally, breeders favored horses with flowing black manes that gave them their “Ravenshore” name.
Movement: Their gait is smooth and efficient, with a long, ground-covering stride. The Courser excels at swift gallops and can maintain a steady, comfortable pace for miles without tiring.

Ravenshore Coursers are bold and spirited, often described as “thinking horses.” They are loyal to skilled handlers but can be willful in inexperienced hands. Intelligent and curious, they require stimulation and consistent training. Their alert, fiery nature makes them quick to react, yet they are steady in dangerous conditions, a trait prized in their coastal homeland.
